Well known Toronto attorney Dhaman Kissoon was presented with the Teaching Excellence award by the Faculty of Law at Queen's University on April 2, 2018.
The importance of this achievement is not lost on this publication as a recent study charting the number of visible minorities professors in Universities and colleges across Canada revealed that the numbers are woefully weak.
Kissoon who has been teaching at Queen's since 1990 is the only visible minority person to have been given this award on more than one occasion at Queen's Law.
In addition to his outstanding involvement as a community activist Dhaman's work as a lawyer has not gone unnoticed. He was recognized by the Law Society as one of the of exceptional lawyers from a diverse community. Kissoon was the only person of Indo Caribbean heritage to have been named on that list.
